Using Drive Your Art®

We are currently in the process of updating our documentation for the new streaming version of Drive Your Art®. Some of the information listed below may be out of date.

Billboard Setup in the Virtual World

  1. Log in to your account on the Drive Your Art® website.
  2. Click Launch Drive Your Art®, then click Start Session.
  3. On the Select Advertising Product page, click Virtual under Billboard.
  4. On the Select Environment page, choose your location. Then either:
    • Click Quick Start to skip customization and proceed with default settings, or
    • Click Customize to configure the environment:
      • Billboard type & dimensions — Select the billboard type and enter its dimensions. (Dimensions are available from your outdoor advertising media company.)
      • Road configuration — Select the number of lanes, path direction, and elevation, as applicable.
      • Billboard placement — Select a placement position, if applicable.
      • Vehicle — Select the vehicle you’d like to view the billboard from.
  5. Click Upload Artwork at the top of the screen. If no artwork is selected, a pop-up will open the Upload/Library window, where you can:
    • Choose existing artwork from the Library tab, or
    • Upload a new file. Note: each upload uses 1 purchased upload credit, and uploaded artwork is stored in your library for 7 days.

      If you have no remaining upload credits, go to Account > Purchase Uploads in the sidebar menu to buy more.
  6. To compare two designs simultaneously, enable A/B Testing:
    • Click the Enable A/B Testing toggle.
    • Select two artwork files from your library.
    • In the environment, switch between the files by clicking the A/B Switch button or pressing B on your keyboard.

Bus Setup in the Virtual World

  1. Log in to your account on the Drive Your Art® website.
  2. Click Launch Drive Your Art®, then click Start Session.
  3. On the Select Advertising Product page, below Vehicles, either:
    • Click Quick Start to skip customization and proceed with default settings for a bus, or
    • Click Customize to configure the environment:
      • Vehicle type — Select the bus type.
      • Artwork location on vehicle — Select the artwork location (on bus only).
      • Road configuration — Select the number of lanes and path direction.
      • Viewer Vehicle — Select the vehicle you’d like to view the artwork from.
  4. Click Upload Artwork at the top of the screen. If no artwork is selected, a pop-up will open the Upload/Library window, where you can:
    • Choose existing artwork from the Library tab, or
    • Upload a new file. Note: each upload uses 1 purchased upload credit, and uploaded artwork is stored in your library for 7 days.

      If you have no remaining upload credits, go to Account > Purchase Uploads in the sidebar menu to buy more.

Taxi Setup in the Virtual World

  1. Log in to your account on the Drive Your Art® website.
  2. Click Launch Drive Your Art®, then click Start Session.
  3. On the Select Advertising Product page, below Vehicles, click Customize to configure the taxi environment:
    • Vehicle type — Select the bus type.
    • Artwork location on vehicle — Select the artwork location (on bus only).
    • Road configuration — Select the number of lanes and path direction.
    • Viewer Vehicle — Select the vehicle you’d like to view the artwork from.
  4. Click Upload Artwork at the top of the screen. If no artwork is selected, a pop-up will open the Upload/Library window, where you can:
    • Choose existing artwork from the Library tab, or
    • Upload a new file. Note: each upload uses 1 purchased upload credit, and uploaded artwork is stored in your library for 7 days.

      If you have no remaining upload credits, go to Account > Purchase Uploads in the sidebar menu to buy more.

Bus Shelter Setup in the Virtual World

  1. Log in to your account on the Drive Your Art® website.
  2. Click Launch Drive Your Art®, then click Start Session.
  3. On the Select Advertising Product page, below Bus Shelter, either:
    • Click Quick Start to skip customization and proceed with default settings, or
    • Click Customize to configure the environment:
      • Environment type — Select between City Downtown or Suburban Street.
      • Billboard location on shelter — Select the back panel or the inside and outside panel of the bus shelter for your artwork to be displayed.
      • Road configuration — Select the number of lanes and path direction.
      • Viewer Vehicle — Select the vehicle you’d like to view the artwork from.
  4. Click Upload Artwork at the top of the screen. If no artwork is selected, a pop-up will open the Upload/Library window, where you can:
    • Choose existing artwork from the Library tab, or
    • Upload a new file. Note: each upload uses 1 purchased upload credit, and uploaded artwork is stored in your library for 7 days.

      If you have no remaining upload credits, go to Account > Purchase Uploads in the sidebar menu to buy more.

Using the Platform – Inside the Virtual World

  1. Drive controls — Use the following buttons to move through the environment:
    • Forward / Reverse — Drive the vehicle forward or backward along the path.
    • Restart Drive — Return the vehicle to the start of the drive path.
    • Drive Approach — Automatically drive the full path. During playback, click the Left or Right arrows to look out of the corresponding side window — useful for viewing your billboard from multiple angles.
  2. Adjusting the billboard — Click a billboard to select it, then open the left fly-out menu (click the orange menu icon) and go to the Movement tab. From here you can:
    • Reposition the billboard within the environment.
    • Rotate the billboard.
    • Adjust the billboard’s height.
  3. Environment settings — The left fly-out menu also contains controls for:
    • Vehicle speed (increase or decrease).
    • Lighting and weather conditions.
  4. Recording a video — Click Record Video to capture a Drive Approach session as a video proof to share with clients.
    • The Drive Approach will begin recording automatically.
    • During recording, you can manually look left or right — this will be captured in the video.
    • When the recording ends, a pop-up will prompt you to name the file.
    • To access your recording, go to Manage Media > Download Media in the sidebar, where you can view, download, or copy a shareable link.
    • Note: recorded videos are stored for 7 days and then permanently deleted. Download any files you wish to keep before they expire.
  5. A/B Testing — If you have A/B Testing enabled and two artwork files uploaded, switch between them by clicking the A/B Switch button or pressing B on your keyboard.

Billboard Setup in Real World Environment

  1. Login to your account on the Drive Your Art® platform.
  2. On the Select Advertising Product page click “Real World” under Billboard.
  3. Enter Latitude and Longitude coordinates from billboard location. The Latitude and Longitude coordinates are included in the details provided by the billboard company. If you enter a mailing address you will not be as close to the billboard and will need to adjust the location in the next screen.
  4. Adjust your location by clicking and dragging down to view the directional arrows. Use arrows to point at the billboard if it is nearby. If not, utilize the fly-out map or return to the previous screen for a precise address entry.
  5. Set zoom point by clicking the area you want to zoom towards (generally this point will be further down the road).
  6. Define the billboard by clicking the four corners of the billboard to create the canvas where your artwork will be displayed.
  7. Add your artwork by clicking on the “Upload Artwork” button, locate your desired file, and click to select it. Then, confirm your choice by clicking the “Confirm” button.

Using the Platform – Inside the Real World Environment

  • After building the Real World Environment you can now view your artwork on the billboard.
  • Press the zoom button to start the zoom motion.
  • Click the Record button to save a video of that motion.
  • You can also adjust the zoom speed or reset the zoom point if needed.
